Before this past year, I had never been out of the country. After traveling to Honduras with Engineers Without Borders in December, I badly wanted to go abroad in the summer and see more of the world. At the same time though, I was weighing the idea of trying to find an internship for the summer or maybe doing research. But ultimately, I wanted to study abroad because when else in my life am I going to have the chance to study and live with a family in Argentina? I feel like the internship opportunities are always going to be there. Sometimes you just have to do something different and fun and that’s what I plan on doing.

So many things to look forward to, here’s a few:

1) I’ll be living with an Argentinean family! What better way to improve my Spanish and fully take in a new culture than to live with a local family! It is certain to be an interesting and exciting experience!

2) I love reading!! Buenos Aires was voted the World Book Capital of the World in 2011.

3) And of course: STEAK. Argentina is famous for its world-class meats!

A standard Argentinean asado (barbeque grill). Can’t wait!
