After a great spring semester, it’s that time of year again. Finals. Which is bizarrely one of my favorite times of the school year. People find it strange, but I much prefer finals to normal school. You can sleep in all the time, budget your time however you want it and study as much as you want for just a few tests. It’s perfect.

But once finals done, I get a nice Hawaiian vacation back home. I’m really looking forward to getting to spend some time with my family, especially seeing my dogs and cat!

I think my family is even more excited for me to get back than I am though! My sister is graduating from high school at the start of June and then going off to Germany for the whole summer before starting school at the University of Michigan so it’s going to be a fun few weeks when we are all home together.

After I spend a few weeks at home, I’m coming back to Los Angeles to continue with my internship doing Android dev at Octoknow and doing research in the Signal Analysis and Interpretations Lab on narrative processing. I think it’s going to be an intellectually engaging and challenging summer which is exactly what I’m looking for. Also, a lot of my friends are staying in Los Angeles for the summer and we are all living in our fraternity house together so that should be a blast. Seems like it will be a perfect combination of work and relaxation which is what summer should bring.

I’ll be blogging over the summer to keep you up to date on what specifically I am doing in my research and internship so keep checking in! To all you high school seniors, I hope you are happy to be done with the college admissions process and to everyone, have a great summer!
