On Friday, I went to one of the best restaurants I have ever been to. Palsaik Samgyupsal is in Koreatown, only 10 minutes away from campus and specializes in one thing and one thing only. Pork. Now it sounds like you might suffer from lack of variety if a restaurant only has one thing. But trust me, this was the greatest pork I have ever had. Their specialty is a dish that comes with 8 different flavors of pork belly, wine, original, garlic, ginseng, herb, curry, miso paste, red pepper paste and smoked. And when I say pork belly, what that means is bacon.
It was the one of the greatest things I have ever tasted. It was all cooked, right in front of us with mushrooms, kim chi, bean sprouts and other other vegetables. Right next to it, there was a seafood soup cooking for after we finished off the bacon.
This was the dinner I went to with my pledge class before our invite. We have a great tradition of exploring Los Angeles restaurants each semester before the event and this was a huge highlight. I will definitely be making my way back to Palsaik Samgyupsal to enjoy more unbelievable pork belly. Try it out if you ever are in the area and want delicious food!
