It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Thanksgiving break is a much needed rest from classes and there’s just something special about coming back to campus getting ready for the holidays. It’s still amazing to me that this is my last fall semester here. Here are some random thoughts about how my semester was and things I learned!
- Board games are so under-appreciated! Over the semester, my friends and I had multiple board game nights where we’d spend hours trying out new games and playing old-time classics. Some of my favorites from this semester are What Do You Meme (for all the meme-lovers out there, this is a meme-version of Cards Against Humanity), Codenames, and Deception (a twist on Clue! Board games are such an easy way to take a breather and get a little competitive with your friends.
- I am soo thankful for the wonderful group of gals I’ve met at USC and the support there is here for women in tech. This is something that means a lot to me and is a huge reason why I love planning AthenaHacks and getting the next generation of amazing women into STEM!
- Big takeaway from this semester: if there’s that fun 2-unit class that you’ve been eyeing, take it! I’m so glad I took a Chinese calligraphy course this semester because it’s something I’ve been interested in learning but never got around to actually doing until I took the class. You can choose to take it pass/no pass or even audit it so there isn’t the pressure of getting a grade, and it’s so much fun!
It’s really bittersweet knowing that fall semester is just about over (and my last football season too). I absolutely love everything that USC offers, the sports community, the food, the people… I’m so glad I chose USC to be my home for four years and can’t wait to see what next semester brings!
Have a wonderful holiday season! 🙂
