Greetings from the road! I am currently driving cross-country to USC with all my gear in tow. I should be getting into LA tomorrow.

This summer has been quite a blast! I had my first experience living in DC, interned for a renewable energy non-profit, and turned 21! And as sad as I am that the summer is coming to an end, I am very excited for the coming year.

Senior year looks like it’s going to be a busy one. Aside from the usual load of classes, I’ll be taking on a number of extra-curricular responsibilities. I’m the president of the USC chapter of Mortar Board, a service and leadership organization. Throughout the year, I’ll be in charge of planning philanthropy and service events such as the Last Lecture Series, which features a popular USC professor giving a lecture as if it were his or her last ever. Additionally, I am a campus ambassador for the Out for Undergraduate Business Conference, which works to bring LGBT inclusion into the corporate business world. And as always, I’ll be back singing with the USC Troy Tones, an a cappella group on campus. We have our first concert coming up on Labor Day and soon after that we will be holding auditions for new members. I can’t wait to see what crop of new singers turns up!

Additionally, because I will be graduating at the end of this school year, I’m going to be looking for a job throughout the year. I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what type of job I’m interested in, but I’m having a hard time narrowing them down. I think I will probably end up applying for a variety of engineering jobs in the field of renewable energy and sustainability. Hopefully one of them will jump out at me.

That’s all for now. I’m looking forward to a great final year at USC! Check out some pictures below from my cross country road trip:

Kansas was flat but has a lot of wind turbines!

And is occasionally very pretty (with assistance from instagram)

At one point we decided to navigate entirely by roadmap (didn’t work out too well…)

We did a little hiking here and there

And came across some bizarre pets

And even got to ride them!

Our stop at Yosemite was breathtaking

And San Francisco provided some much needed relaxation
