Well I never thought the day would come, but somehow I’m back at USC from my semester abroad.  And it looks like it’s gearing up to be an exciting (and busy!) semester.  I’m taking 22 units, which is quite a load.  Luckily six of those are for my theater minor, so that will a nice be a nice break from engineering.  I think I’m most excited for CE-465, which is a water supply and design systems class.  It’s my first class for the environmental emphasis and it looks like it’s going to be fun and a bit creative.  I’ve also been cast in a School of Theater show, which gets me 2 units of credit towards my minor.  It’s a Post Graduate Playwriting production called “One Man’s Trash” about post apocalyptic Los Angeles.  Can’t wait to start rehearsing!

I’m also very excited because for the first time since I’ve been at USC, my a cappella group the Troy Tones is competing in the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA).  We compete in the quarter finals in less than two weeks so rehearsals have been a little crazy.  But it’s great to be back singing with the group again.

I’ve already started planning my spring break because this year, my 21st birthday falls during that week.  Right now I’m planning a road trip on the east coast to visit all my friends who go to college there.  I’ll end up at Brown for the second weekend, which is my birthday.  I’m happy to be celebrating with my friends from high school because I don’t get to see them very often.  And I’ll get to come back to USC and celebrate all over again!

It’s certainly going to be a hectic semester, but thankfully it’s because I’m doing things and taking classes that I’m very excited about.  I just have to make sure I maintain my academics.  It’s a worthy challenge.
