After a long winter break, I’m definitely excited to get back into the swing of things. It’s going to be a busy semester for sure, but I’m looking forward to having a bit more free time for myself than last semester. My classes are definitely going to be a lot of work but I’m excited to have a mix of different subjects to take:
Organic Chemistry- I’m actually rather excited to take this course even though I’ve heard a mix of things about it. It’s going to be challenging for sure but Chemistry is one of my favorite subjects, so I think it’ll be interesting as well.
Separations Processes- I’ve found this to be very interesting so far and I really like the professor. Hopefully it won’t be quite as confusing as thermodynamics.
Numerical Methods for Chemical Engineers- This is basically a computer programming course geared specifically for chemical engineers. I’m not the best with programming but I think it’ll be a very useful course.
Exploring Culture Through Film- This is a Category 2 GE, which I wasn’t too excited about beforehand, but we just watched a film about animal cannibalism, which was really cool so maybe it’ll be better than I thought.
Theater in the Community- This is definitely the course I’m the most excited by. We’re doing a bunch of different projects throughout the semester geared towards bringing theater to those who don’t normally experience the arts.
Besides my classes, here are the things I’m also looking forward to:
-Absolut A Cappella- My a cappella group is competing in this annual competition hosted at USC. We won second place last year as well as best arrangement so I’m excited to see how we do this year!
-Spring Break- I’m going home to Virginia and then doing a college tour to visit all my friends who go to school on the east coast. Can’t wait!
Now I just have to make sure that I don’t procrastinate too much and this is bound to be one of the best semesters yet!
