Last week I got to experience my first Explore USC program from the other side of things. I attended Explore USC as a high school student just two years ago and now I am excited to relive the experience as a Viterbi Student Ambassador. I remember coming to USC for Explore during my senior year of high school and being quite impressed with the presentations put on by the university and especially by those put on by Viterbi. Yet being on the other side of things makes me realize the amount of work put into making Explore run fluidly. Attending Explore was actually one of the reasons I applied to be a VSA in the first place. I can remember sitting in the audience of the student panel listening to Evan Lee answer questions about USC and thinking to myself that if I ever came to USC, I would definitely want to apply to be a VSA. I’m so pleased that just a year and half later I get to work with VSA’s like Evan who definitely influenced my decision to come to USC. You can check out Evan’s blog here.
I’ve loved working at the Explore programs so far because talking to all these students who are so excited about college and engineering reminds me of why I came here and decided to pursue an engineering degree in the first place. I feel like I’ve learned a lot about the Viterbi school over these past two years here and I’m happy to share what I’ve learned to help prospective students with their college decision making process. Good luck to all those who interviewed for scholarships. I hope to see you all here at USC next year, and I can’t wait to meet even more of you at future Explore USC programs!
