By going to USC, I am in very close to L.A. Live and can enjoy all it has to offer. L.A. Live is an area in downtown Los Angeles with many restaurants and entertainment venues. Last week, I went with some of my friends and enjoyed what it had to offer.

For dinner, we went to a restaurant called The Yardhouse and feasted on the delicious burgers that they have. The atmosphere is great here and the cost of food can be affordable on a college student’s budget. After eating, you can walk around the plaza and see what’s going on: often times, there will be some awards show or sporting event going on since the Nokia Center and Staples Center are both here. Over the summer, we went there and watched the Big Air competition of the X-Games, it was pretty sick.

Just across the street from the restaurant is a Regal Cinema and right around the corner is Lucky Strikes. Lucky Strikes is essentially a very nice bowling alley where you can eat good food, bowl, play pool, or just lounge around with your friends. Right across from Lucky Strikes is the ESPN Zone. Not only does this serve as sports bar, but also, ESPN films all of its L.A. broadcasts from this building.

In general, whether its to catch a movie or an award show, or go to a restaurant or just hang out with friends, L.A. Live serves as a great place to go to that is near campus.
