Imagine that it’s your busiest day of the week, one where you have class from 10 am to 7 pm with only time for a lunch break. And on this particular day you have 2 midterms and an essay due. But alas! There is one class that you are taking to ease all of your worries! It’ssss YOGA!!!
While my schedule isn’t quite that hectic, it’s still nice to get a brief reprise from all of life’s stressors. That’s why I decided to take yoga this semester. I have taken it for a little bit in the past over the summer and thought I’d give it another chance.
For those of you who think yoga is just a bunch of really hard poses that are impossible to do if you’re not already flexible, you are wrong. While it’s true you can’t dive right into touching your head to your knees and other expert poses, you can still do most of the moves and build up to that. For me, my personal favorite is the Warrior II pose just because I like the muscles that it stretch…that and I think it looks cool when you’re doing it. Another benefit of Yoga is that it gives a solid core workout without being overly intensive. AND it’s relaxing! I always leave the class feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day ahead.
So, if you ever get the chance, take yoga and reap the benefits of becoming flexible, developing a good core, and being ready to take on the day ahead.
I’m really disappointed that you didn’t post some photos of you participating in this, Vlad. 🙂
