BAH! Winter break is over already? Oh where did the time go :'(. Well it was definitely a good one while it lasted, at least for me.
Like I said in my last post of 2011, I went to Chicago for a couple of days through New Years. While there, I went to a RUSKO concert with my friends and it was INSANE! Lots of fun. We also hung out with his friends to ring in the New Years, got to go to the SEARS Tower and The Bean, and also just walk around downtown Chicago. Other than the frigid temperatures (a warm 17 degress…) it was a lot of fun.
Other than Chicago, I watched a lot of movies over break, spent most of my time with my family, and hung out with my high school friends as well (we made molten lava chocolate cake one day. it was delicious.). Add this to my aforementioned trip to Colorado and this turned out to be a very fun yet relaxing break.
Now I am on the second week back at school, where the sun always shines and it (usually) stays above 40 in the winter. I’m really looking forward to this semester. I learned my lesson in the fall in regards to taking too many classes, so I am giving myself a break to focus on some of the student projects I am working on (blogs sure to follow). Two of the classes I’m auditing are Yoga and Improv, both of which I love so far. I’ve also become much more physically active and hope that this New Year’s resolution will stick throughout the year. The best part is that right after the first week of school, we got a 3-day weekend for MLK day. I utilized this time to read The Hunger Games and visit a friend in Orange County.
Lastly, but surely not least, I’d like to take this moment to honor the memory of my dear HP Pavilion Laptop who died last week (the motherboard fried). It lived for a decent 2.5 years, provided me with lots of entertainment, and got all of my college work done. It’s death is one of the reasons I do not have any pictures to upload for this post (there are a lot of them), but have no fear, I backed up all my files. Yay! Thus, I am writing this blog from a SAL laptop (the computer lab let’s you check out laptops for up to 8 hours at a time) and have put the black screen of death as the post’s picture in memory of my laptop. May it rest in peace.
I hope all of you have had a wonderful holiday season and are excited to soon start your college career (at USC hopefully)!
