This past weekend, I did something cool. After class on Friday, I, along with many other Trojan football fans, travelled up to San Francisco for the Cal football game. Although this was the original intent of the trip, however, I didn’t actually end up tailgating or going to the game. Instead, I swapped my football jersey for my camera and travelled to some pretty neat sights across the Bay Area. And although I do think it’s great and fun to support our Trojan football team – especially considering our undefeated record through the first three games of the season – this break was definitely the getaway I needed.
On Saturday, I hit three cool spots:
1) Billy Goat Hill
A great viewpoint in San Francisco that reaches across the downtown core, the East Bay and Noe Valley.
2) Half Moon Bay
Located south of San Francisco on the coast, this bay had easily one of the most breathtaking views I’ve ever seen.
3) Seal Cove Inn
So this one isn’t as public a place as the other two, but the trail of cypress trees along with the coastal view behind this inn make it a worthwhile stop.
Overall, I had a great weekend with some even better people. If you ever get a chance to roam around the Bay Area, I highly recommend hitting these three places. Also, side note: the I-5 has far too bad a reputation; though they may be few and far between, there are several cool sights and stops to make along the way.
Travel on, fight on!
