…finals season!
This is sort of the critical point in the semester, now that you’re done with midterms and you’ve learned all the material, most classes have a final exam, which can range anywhere from 10-45 percent of your final grade, sometimes even more, depending on the professor and subject. So that means these can make or break your grades…no pressure, though!

Inside my favorite study spot!
This semester, I’m taking some of the hardest classes I’ve ever taken, and next semester could be even more difficult. It’s so important to learn how to study, who to (and not to) study with, and to make use of all the resources. For me personally, I like to study alone, since it gives me a chance to understand what I do and don’t know before I review with friends in my major and in my classes. That way, I can learn from my classmates as well and check my understanding. One of the most helpful resources there is is office hours! TAs and professors will usually hold special office hours during dead week, which is a few days between the end of classes and the start of finals where you don’t have anything but study time. The teaching staff is there to answer your questions or explain concepts you don’t get, or work through practice problems with you. Some other great resources are your classmates and, of course, the textbook/lecture material.

My go-to lunch on campus
It’s also really important to know where to study! Lots of the libraries on campus will have extended hours during finals, and there are so many libraries that you’ll definitely find a place here that suits your vibe. I’ve also always loved working in my apartment or dorm, since you’ve got your own space, it takes no time to get there, and you can study in your pajamas. It’s the perfect combination.
Though you’ll be working really hard, it’s super important to make sure you remember to eat, which is definitely something that I forget when I’m elbows deep in digital circuits and processor design. Luckily, we’ve got free delivery on UberEats during the finals season, and Tapingo’s another cool way to order food beforehand, then pick it up at the restaurant when it’s ready. Tapingo is my favorite when I’m looking to grab something quick from a restaurant on campus.
The key is to make sure you’re making the most of your study time and also getting enough rest to make sure you’re awake and ready for your exams!
Good luck 🙂
