Anyone who knows me knows that I absolutely love parent’s weekend. It is an opportunity to take a breath and hangout with the people that made this all possible. In my opinion, it is still the best weekend of every year. This one was particularly awesome because we did not sign up for any events and just did our own thing.
It started with a late arrival from my parents because LAX has decided to modify curbside rideshare pickup and now, it takes over an hour to get a ride from the airport to where you need to go. Regardless, they showed up to my house, we ordered pizza, and began our chill weekend.
Besides eating and sleeping, the weekend was pretty uneventful. However, it was amazing as ever.
We did go out to the tailgate on Saturday where my dad and I still reign supreme in tailgating activities. We elected to watch the game from my house and continue the no commitment relaxation weekend. Although we did not go to the game, we still had to participate in the tradition of eating danger dogs (bacon wrapped hot dogs sold on the side of the street). I consumed two which I would later regret, but nonetheless, it satisfied me in the moment.
My parents left early Sunday morning, I went to my baseball game, got back, and continued to study and do homework. I stand by my thought that parents weekend is always the best weekend of the year!
