Eating in Los Angeles is an experience in itself, but USC has some great options available. Whether it be a midnight craving or wanting to fill yourself up at meal time, there is a place for it on campus.
My favorite place for breakfast on campus is SunLife. They are located in the village and serve acai bowls, as well as, smoothies and protein drinks. It is a very healthy option and a great way to get some energy and get the day started. The only caveat, however, is that they are a little pricey (it is more of a treat). A cheaper but similar option is Nektar, and they take dining dollars!
Recommendation: Trojan Bowl
Lunch has to go to Wahlburgers (located in village). Started by the Wahlberg family, this burger chain restaurant has not disappointed. Everything is fresh and packed with flavor. For Los Angeles, this place is reasonably priced, and who knows, maybe one day you could spot Mark himself!
Recommendation: The Melt
It’s dinner time, and Rance’s Chicago style pizza is ringing the bell. Another village destination that provides great pizza, wings, and salads. It is slightly pricey (it’s LA), so it cannot be a frequent destination. Beware: the pizzas take up to 45 minutes and are ginormous.
Recommendation: Bacon Bourbon wings, Caesar salad, and Rance’s Favorite Pan Style pizza
Got the hunger growls at midnight? Not a problem. Spudnuts donuts and Chanos (El Huero) got your back! Both places are open 24/7, very reasonable priced, located on Figueroa (right across the street from each other), and have the ultimate satisfactory snacks. Chanos is a small shack that serves Mexican food, while Spudnuts serves all kinds of donuts, sandwiches, shakes, and boba. These two places are iconic and USC staples.
Recommendation: Fruity pebbles donut and cookies and cream shake. Taquitos from Chanos
Honorable mentions: Cava (mediterranean subway), Himalayan house (curry), Lemonade (salads, sandwiches, lemonade), and Blaze pizza
Check out more locations of places to eat on my Viterbi Voices page! I will continue to update it as I deem restaurants worthy to have a place on my recommendation list. Eat on!
