This past Sunday, I took a break from studying to take my grandpa to the USC/UCLA Basketball game at the Galen Center!  Located just across from campus, the Galen Center is a really convenient location for students, and it makes all of the Basketball games really accessible.  Plus, tickets for students are free!

Because I am seriously obsessed with Trojan football, I am also seriously missing football season.  I’m not as much of a basketball fan, but the basketball games are a nice substitute for football during the Spring semester.  The band attends the games, as do the song girls, and there is a huge student section – so it feels just as spirited and fun as one of the football games.

This game was not the best in terms of Trojan victory (we lost 59-75), but it was really fun.  During the game, the student section recorded their own Harlem Shake video, cheered on the Trojans, and booed the Bruins.  It was an awesome display of school spirit , despite a disappointing loss.

Also during the game, they presented the Tennis team and the 5-time-national-champion Men’s Water Polo Team.  Athletics are definitely something we take seriously here at USC, and they’re definitely something we excel in.  For me, that’s another perk about USC – we have amazing academics, and we supplement them with amazing sports and extracurriculars.

I had a great time at the game, and I’m definitely looking forward to going back for more!photo-97
