So, as most of you sports aficionados (like myself) already know, and for those of you who don’t know, the NFL Draft is this Thursday. It should, as always, be exciting to see who my team takes and how it will help our quest to win the Super Bowl next season. Since I’m a Vikings fan, the ’09 season was a bit hard to take with the tough loss in the NFC Championship Game. However, the draft is a great chance to reload and try again the next season. In addition to paying close attention to and scrutinizing my team’s picks, here’s some storylines I’ll be watching play out:
* USC players – what rounds will they be drafted in and to what teams? Will we continue our draft dominance and have many high picks or will the overall USC draft stock take a hit this season?
* Pete Carroll – what will Pete do in his second NFL go-around? Is he scheming to acquire old USC players like LenDale White or even Reggie? We’ll have to wait and see
* Big Ben – Will the Steelers actually trade a 2-time Super Bowl Champion? How much do off-the-field issues matter these days in the NFL?
* QBs – This draft is littered with quarterbacks who could become stars. Where will Bradford, Clausen, Tebow, and McCoy land? How will they all do in their first seaons?
Other than this draft talk, I’ve had a relatively light week. I’ve been focusing on projects I need to finish up before the end of the semester for some of my classes, which is good. It will be nice once I’m done with everything and have some time to do nothing before I leave to study abroad in Paris this summer! 🙂
Maybe next week I’ll have some more to say…
