This summer was one of the most enjoyable (and shortest) summers of my life! After wrapping up finals in May, I flew out to Nashville for my sister's graduation from Vanderbilt University and got to spend some much needed time with family (and most importantly, my dog).
After about a week of playing with my dog, I flew back out to LA to start my internship at The Aerospace Corporation. I interned in the Structural Dynamics department, and I truly had the most amazing time. I learned so much about the aerospace industry, got to know incredible mentors, speakers, and innovators, participated in the Aerospace Summer Games, and even learned Python!
I also stayed in a beach house in Hermosa Beach with my boyfriend to shorten the commute to El Segundo for work (he was working at Northrop Grumman so just right up the street from Aerospace)! We had an awesome time bumming out on the beach after work and exploring Hermosa, Redondo, and Palos Verdes on the weekends.
After finishing my internship, I spent the rest of my summer studying for the GRE, attending a leadership conference in Rhode Island, and starting grad school applications. Although this summer definitely hasn't seemed like much of a break, it has given me a bit more of a clear glimpse into my future--and I can confidently say that I am so excited to see what's to come!
