Junior year completely sneaked up on me. I am very excited to begin getting into my upper division coursework and am looking forward to the challenge of working part-time at Northrop Grumman over the course of the school year.
I am very blessed to have the opportunity to continue supporting the James Webb Space Telescope as I further my studies in Electrical Engineering. I am signed up for ‘Probability, Statistics, and Random Processes for Electrical Engineering’, ‘Advanced Writing for Engineering’, ‘Mathematics of Physics and Engineering II’, and ‘Engineering Economy.’ My professors are really great and have made lecture really fun in the first few weeks of the semester.

Though I am not participating in some of the on campus clubs I wanted to take part in this semester, I am thrilled at the opportunity to build my resume and am having a lot of fun being a year round intern at Northrop Grumman.

A challenge I am looking forward to this semester is one of my courses: Advanced Writing for Engineering. Writing is not my favorite subject, however I wrote many detailed memorandums in regards to my internship work, per my boss’ request, and I feel somewhat prepared for this course.

Pedro Lepe - Fall 2013 Schedule
As the Director of Community Outreach for SHPE, I am planning several events to give the members of the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers an opportunity to give back to our area’s children and young adults. Next month we will have a Day at the Museum event where we will invite 4th and 5th grade students to the California Science Center and show them around the exhibits. Additionally, we will be showing them an IMAX film about the Hubble Space Telescope and conclude the event with a campus tour. These small events have a huge impact on the community’s children and we take a lot of pride in providing this resource to them.

The school year will be a ton of fun! USC Football is picking it up and I will be going to this weekend’s game! Thanks for reading and Fight On!
