Sports have always been a part of my life. I played three varsity sports in high school because I couldn’t stand the thought of going a day without having played a sport after school. My special love was baseball. I’d played baseball since I was 6, and I thought that coming to college would mean I’d have to say goodbye to that part of my life for good.

Thankfully, I was totally wrong!

I found out about the USC Club Baseball team during the clubs fair the first week of classes. The clubs’ fair showcases hundreds of clubs, teams, and student organizations that USC has to offer.

Although I knew no one on the team, I quickly made friends and found myself looking forward to practice every week. Not to mention, I was able to play the game I love on beautiful Dedeaux Field. Doing something I love was a great way for me to get settled into USC.

By the time the first game rolled around, I was already close with my teammates, and this made traveling to other universities to compete against them extremely enjoyable. I’ll be honest, when I found out that the drive to Arizona State University was 5 hours, I thought the trip was going to be terrible. Instead, I talked to my teammates the whole time and we had lots of fun along the way. It was kind of like going on road trips with my friends!

Club baseball is just one of the many clubs that USC offers, but it just so happens that it was the club for me.
