Hi everyone! As you know from reading our blog posts last week, we love EWeek at USC and we had such a fun week celebrating engineering with the kick-off carnival, talent show, minute to win it, bionic pig race, discover engineering service day, and of course Viterbi Ball on Friday night. I know my friends in other schools at USC were jealous of all our fun activities!

I have a grad class Friday afternoons but I still had enough time before Viterbi Ball to get together with several of the VSAs, girls from SWE, and other engineers to get dinner, hang out and take pictures! This year I took my old roommate and another Gamma Phi as my dates – they are both Marshall Business students, and were so excited to check out Viterbi Ball. Before we knew it it was time to head over to RTH to board the buses to Viterbi Ball!

Viterbi Ball was held just a 10 minute drive downtown at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel on the patio. It was such a great venue in the middle of downtown surrounded by the lit up skyscrapers, and held all 400 engineers in attendance easily! The dance floor was located inside the hotel, while the patio was used for food, the photo booth, and whenever we needed to take a break from dancing! Towards the end of the dance, the Viterbi King and Queen are crowned – this year Brenton was named Viterbi King!

Since this was my last Viterbi Ball it was definitely bittersweet, but I had so much fun dancing the night away with my closest engineering friends. I am so glad Viterbi is unique in hosting a dance for its students each year, and it is the highlight of the year. It’s a great night to celebrate the end of Engineering Week and take a break from studying for midterms and group projects. I will definitely miss Viterbi Ball next year, although I’ve heard there’s one for graduate students! Here are some more pictures from the evening.
