Hi everyone! I hope everyone has had a good week. I wanted to tell you about one of my favorite weekends of the semester so far, our annual fall SWE officer council retreat. For the past two years we have traveled up to Lake Arrowhead for a two days of bonding and planning our SWE goals and events for the year. It’s a great break from classes, midterms, and stress as we hit the midpoint of the semester. While I wasn’t able to go up to Lake Arrowhead until late Friday night, it was still a great weekend trip with my fellow SWEsters.
As an executive board member and senior this year, the retreat is incredibly important to build a community among our Officer Council members, and teach them more about how the organization is run. In addition to planning SWE events, we love hanging out in the cabin playing cards, relaxing on the dock, or even going for a hike. This year the water was a little too cold, but usually we go swimming in the lake too!

I’m honored that I’ve been able to serve SWE as an officer council member and two year executive board member. The lessons I’ve learned through our general meetings and the connections I made will serve me for years to come. Not to mention the great memories I have from our SWE events over the years!
This week I will be going to the SWE National Conference in Baltimore! Stay tuned for conference updates. I’ll also be live tweeting from Baltimore!
Until next time,
Natalie
