Lacrosse is one of my favorite things and I’m so glad that I’ve been able to play for the last nine years. It’s a great balance for my engineering classes and the other organizations I’m involved with on campus.

This past weekend was the annual lacrosse Santa Barbara Shootout! Teams from all across the country come to UCSB every year to play three days of lacrosse. I’ve been to this tournament every year and it is definitely one of the highlights of my spring. It’s a great weekend of lacrosse and team bonding. It’s also our team Parents Weekend, so my parents joined me in Santa Barbara!

My team had two games on Friday and two on Sunday. Since I had been sick I joined the team on Saturday in Santa Barbara for a beach day and exploring Santa Barbara. Santa Barbara is one of my favorite cities in California. After a day at the beach, we went to watch a quick lacrosse game before heading to our team/family dinner, and then back to the hotel to get ready for our big games on Sunday!

Sunday we won both of our games – including an important game against Cal Poly SLO which went into overtime! We were really lucky and got great weather for the tournament this year – it hailed on us my freshman year! I’ll be headed back to Santa Barbara later this semester for PLAYOFFS, which are at the end of April! Can’t wait to see how the rest of the season goes.
