I hope everyone has been enjoying their summers so far! I sure know I have. This is my 3rd week interning at Boeing and I am learning so much and having a blast in my first summer in LA.

First, it’s Father’s Day! So happy Father’s Day to my Dad! Love you!

Now more on my internship: I’m a mechanical engineering intern at Boeing in El Segundo working in the Mechanisms Operations department, which means I work on the various mechanisms for satellites. It’s been really interesting learning about a different field of engineering at such a large company. There are about 60 interns here this summer which means tons of intern activities! Boeing has a really great intern program to help us learn more about the company, learn professional skills and get to know each other and explore LA. One night they even gave us tickets for a game at the Staples Center in the Boeing box!

On my other weekends in LA I’ve explored restaurants (finally went to Wurstkuche!) and explored Manhattan and Hermosa Beach. This weekend I was home in San Diego for Father’s Day, and got to go to the San Diego Fair (where I ran into Makana!). We also went paddle boarding in Coronado, which is one of my favorite things to do when I’m home. This afternoon we had a Father’s Day celebration with my entire family – naturally I got them all Boeing swag 🙂

In two weeks I’m going to San Francisco for 4th of July weekend! I’m visiting my roommate who is interning there this summer. I haven’t been to San Francisco since I was 12, so I’m really excited to go back and go sightseeing with my best friend!

Until next time,

Natalie
