My favorite student involvement on campus is definitely the USC Women’s Lacrosse Club Team. After playing lacrosse for six years before coming to USC, I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue playing lacrosse in college. But after a semester of school without it, I really missed the team camaraderie and the sport itself. So second semester I joined the team and I’ve loved every minute of it since! Lacrosse is a spring sport, but we practice all year long. The team has fifty girls on two separate teams, but we practice, travel, and spend our time as one big united team. Last year we travelled every weekend in February to games in San Diego, San Luis Obispo, and a weekender trip to San Francisco. We even played twice in Santa Barbara, once for a tournament on President’s Day weekend and again for playoffs in April. The highlight of our season was definitely playing UCLA three times in two weeks – those are always really close games. This year we manage to have a 3-0 record against them, after playing overtime games at UCLA, USC, and at playoffs!

I had so much fun playing lacrosse last semester that I can’t wait to see what the next three years will bring! I loved getting to know and be friends with so many different girls from different years and majors. A few of the girls have even become some of my closest and best friends in college.

USC has several levels of athletic involvement, including varsity, club, and intramural teams for almost every sport. Check out www.laxteams.net/trojanlax to find out more about the USC Women’s Lacrosse Club team, and for more information on club and intramural sports, visit www.usc.edu/recsports.
