Hi everyone! I just got back this afternoon from an amazing weekender in San Francisco, where USC beat Cal 62-28! When I have a free weekend though here in Los Angeles, one of my favorite places to go for the day is the Getty Center. There are actually two Getty museums in Los Angeles, the Getty Center and the Getty Villa, but the Getty Center is my favorite with its beautiful gardens and views of the city.

The Getty Center is home to great European and American art, amazing gardens, and stunning modern architecture. I first visited the Getty in high school, and every since then I have loved to visit when I have a free day. Most recently I went this past summer with fellow VSA Kat and our friend Emily. The weather was great when we visited so we got a pretty good view of LA and downtown from the Getty. I love walking through the exhibits and learning more about the art, but I especially enjoy the gardens and architecture of the Getty. I could spend all afternoon walking through the gardens! The Getty also had a concert the night we were visiting, so we stayed for a bit of that. It was the perfect way to spend a summer afternoon!

While the fall has been busy with football season and  midterms, I’m hoping that I will have more time to go back in the spring.

Until next time,
