Hi everyone!

It’s hard to believe I’ve already been at USC for a month! School already seems to be flying by, and we’re heading into our third week of school. This weekend I went on a retreat for the Society of Women Engineers Officer Council to prepare for our year. We went to Lake Arrowhead for a couple days, which was gorgeous! We enjoyed the sun and the lake, and drove back to LA in time for the USC football game!

Lake Arrowhead

You’ve already learned about my summer in Madrid, and seen my new apartment! Here’s a run down of what I’m doing this fall.

Classes: this semester I’m taking 3 civil engineering courses, 2 architecture classes (including my Building Science lab!), and sailing! I will be sailing this fall with Steve and Vlad! Stay tuned for pictures from that trip! My civil engineering courses include fluid mechanics (with fellow VSA Warren!), design of steel structures, and theory of structures I. Here’s what my week looks like!

Student Involvement: This year I am so pumped to be president of my lacrosse club team! So far I’ve been in charge of scheduling all the games for our season, which I can’t wait to start. I am also the Vice President of External Relations for the Society of Women Engineers, and on the executive board with fellow VSAs Emily, Caitlin, and Cassandra! I am also really excited for all of my sorority activities this year with Gamma Phi Beta, including philanthropies and our first invite later this month!

This weekend is the annual weekender trip that USC goes on, when the football team plays at either Cal or Stanford. I was originally planning to go up with friends to San Francisco and go to the game, but all my Stanford friends are actually going to be home in San Diego since they are studying abroad this fall! So I am having my own version of the weekend and going home to watch the Stanford game with friends! The next day is the season home opener for the San Diego Chargers, and my family and I are fired up for the NFL football season, in addition to USC!

Until next time, Fight On!
