As I talked about last week, I have great hideaway spots on campus where I can get work done without sacrificing the great views of campus. But sometimes, I love to get off campus and go explore what’s around USC, since I’m not from the area. My sophomore year, I was able to get a car, and since then, I’ve been exploring the city whenever I get the chance! LA is full of amazing experiences, but one of my favorite places to return to again and again is Angeles Crest.
The Angeles Crest highway is over 60 miles of a winding, two-lane road, just a couple miles north of USC. It passes through the San Gabriel mountains, giving you a wonderful birds-eye view of the city. When it passes on the other side of the mountains, you get an amazing view of the national forest, and, at night, of the stars that you can’t normally see in a city as big as LA. It’s a truly amazing place, and I never get tired of going back!
Campus is beautiful, but with at least 4 years here at USC, I definitely recommend seeing the rest of the amazing area surrounding it. So if you get a chance, take a trip up into Angeles Crest, I promise you won’t regret it!
