I can’t believe it’s already the beginning of a new semester! After almost a month of relaxing back home in Florida, I couldn’t be happier to be back at school. Spring semester marks the start of new classes, perfect weather, and all of my favorite spring activities!

The main reason I’m excited for the semester is my amazing schedule. As a junior, I have small classes with great professors and classmates that I’ve gotten to know from previous semesters. This semester, I’m taking 5 classes, 3 civil engineering and 2 environmental engineering courses. It’s only been a week, but so far I’ve really enjoyed my classes, and it’s looking like this could be my favorite semester yet! My schedule is also laid out so that I don’t have class on Fridays, so I’m looking forward to being more involved with campus organizations like the American Society of Civil Engineers and Engineers Without Borders.

Another reason that I love the spring is because of how many different events are going on. In the fall, my weekends usually are centered around football games, but in the spring, I get the opportunity to try new things. Some of my favorite activities include heading to the beach, attending concerts, visiting museums, finding new bookstores and boutiques, and exploring farmers’ markets. I’m also hoping to try some new things, like going to a LA Kings hockey game and going to Disney for the first time!

The amount of events, especially outdoor ones, at USC and in Los Angeles during the spring is endless! I can’t wait to post updates in the future about how the semester progresses.
