February is in the air… has it really only been 5 weeks since I was basking under the Hawaiian sun over winter break?! Time flies and days get soooo busy, I can barely keep up! The homework, projects and event planning activities are piling up, and I wish I had a moment to breathe. But the challenge is exciting and I hope I get through all my classes this semester without letting laziness kick in! (Although I was successfully able to drop an 8am class and switch to a different section at noon! Major struggle to get up at 7am!)

Onto some happier notes, I landed a summer internship and officially accepted my offer! So the recruiting period is over for me and I can take a little breather. But it doesn’t stop there, because I’m still heading a semester’s worth of events for the Information Systems Association (ISA), helping the organization’s members land their dream jobs and internships as well.

Trojan Alumni joined us at ISA's Alumni Panel last week.

The Society of Women Engineers is hosting a big event this Wednesday called Evening With Industry. There will be a big fancy dinner at the Radisson Hotel, right next to USC campus, where students get to network with company representatives over a three-course meal. Hopefully the event helps lots of SWE members get a better understanding of what each company is looking for and how they can make themselves more marketable when interviewing for a job.

I’m currently taking a break from my operations research and engineering statistics homework…ISA has an event tomorrow, SWE’s big dinner is on Wednesday and my linguistics midterm is coming up on Thursday so I’m trying to get my act together! Stress aside, it should be a very exciting week.

Some highlights from the past weeks: I watched my first Lakers game at the Staples Center (Lakers vs. Kings) and had an awesome time at Universal Studios with my fellow VSA’s for our Spring Retreat!
