Hey everyone! This week is career week which is very exciting because we all hope to get great jobs when we graduate!  USC hosts a lot of great career development opportunities and information sessions, but I love that Viterbi has a lot of it’s own resources!

This week the two big events will be VINE (Viterbi Industry Networking Night) and the Career Expo, where hundreds of companies will come to recruit only engineering students! Navigating the career expo can be overwhelming, which is why it is so important to do research in advance and have an idea of which companies are important to talk to.  The coolest part of this expo is that all of these companies have jobs available right now, and people get interviews the same day!  It’s a great way to network with recruiters too who often come back every year!

I’ve definitely loved attending these events throughout the years and have made so many connections because of them.  Having events only open to engineers make them less crowded and more intimate as well, and ensure that my time is being well spent talking to all of these companies.  It’s also so great to practice networking, elevator pitches, using my resume, and getting all dressed up!

Be sure to read my blog about my summer internship at Accenture to see what types of opportunities I got out of these career events!
