Hey guys!
This week we are talking about our favorite classes this semester, and mine has to be my chemical engineering lab class! This is a two part class so it is my second semester in it, but I love how hands on it is, and how much practical application I get out of the class. I definitely feel my time here is very rewarding.
This class has 9 intensive labs throughout the semester that compile all the knowledge we have learned in classes from separations, reactors, heat transfer, fluids, thermodynamics, and more into real world applications. Last semester we modeled flow rates through different types of valves, analyzed separation rates of strippers, and did countless titrations to analyze the acidity of different solutions.
I also really enjoy working with my lab group! I’ve gotten really close to my group, and you really learn how to work on a team well and delegate work efficiently. Each lab is accompanied by an intensive lab report where you really delve into all the material and understand all the data you collect during the lab section. Not only is it great practical experience, but my writing skills and how to write technically has improved drastically!
