This past weekend I decided to treat myself to a weekend away. Senior year has been more stressful than I had anticipated. Between trying to fit in a last-minute SAP Certificate through the ITP program, working on my Senior Design Project at Disneyland, attending networking nights on campus, and interviewing for full-time jobs after graduation, this was the first weekend where I could slip away from USC and visit my boyfriend in Chicago. He was also an Industrial & Systems Engineering major here at Viterbi, and now he is working as an IT Consultant for Capgemini in Chicago and lives with two other USC alumni.

On Saturday we explored downtown Chicago. I loved Millennium Park and acted like a total tourist when I took tons of pictures of the Bean. We also walked around the river front and down Michigan Avenue. Since Saturday was game day here in LA, we of course had to watch the game in the afternoon. We met up with the Chicago Trojans Club at a nearby restaurant in Wrigleyville to cheer on the Trojans. It was great being surrounded by cardinal and gold even when I was halfway across the country!

After the USC game, we walked to Wrigley Field for a special screening of Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. We brought blankets and a picnic and watched the movie from the outfield. I’m glad we braved the freezing cold weather than night to stick it out for the movie!

On Sunday we got brunch and then headed back downtown to see the top of the Willis Tower. The view was amazing from the Sky Deck! My favorite part was getting to step out on glass platforms 103 stories above downtown Chicago!

I had such a fun and relaxing weekend, that today I had a hard time getting back into school-mode. I have a midterm tomorrow in my SAP class, so it’s time to hit the books again!
