I had been looking forward to winter break for the longest time. Thanksgiving break wasn’t too much of a break because I had massive projects due the following week, so most of my time was dedicated to that. As soon as I arrived back to my home in the Bay Area, I slept at a moderate time and woke up early the next day, feeling refreshed for the first time in a long time!

I devised a couple ways to keep myself busy throughout break by making a list of goals I wanted to accomplish. I wanted to touch up my resume, apply to a couple internships, and work on a couple personal design projects. But I also had some personal goals too, like read a book that a friend recommended, see friends that I haven’t seen in months, etc. I got to accomplish many of the things on my list, and I saw many new places with old faces :). On top of that, the holidays is the perfect time to reconnect with family, and that’s exactly what I did. My family celebrates Christmas and New Year with families that we’ve known for years, so it was nice seeing old faces again!

The phrase new year new me is outdated when you do to college. New semester new me has taken its place, and it has been my phrase for justifying many of the new habits I’ve been trying to keep so far. The first thing I did when I got back to my apartment was a full on mess. It seemed that no one had cleaned it in years! So I took the liberty of polishing every inch I could reach in my place. I want to start of the semester nice and clean in my place, so that hopefully it will give my suitemates and I the motivation to stay that way.

I’m looking forward to my classes this semester! I’m taking Physics II (E & M), a MechE class called Strength of Materials, an upper div CS class about Robotics, WRIT 340, and a GE on psychology. My schedule seems like a good balance between the sciences and the humanities, and I very much look forward to that. So far my teachers have been great, and I don’t have any issues so far!

I hope you all had a wonderful and relaxing winter break!!!
