Last weekend, I was able to fly home to Seattle to celebrate Easter with my family. I won’t be going home at all this summer, so it was really nice to be home with my family for a few days.

The first thing I did when I got home was eat some of my mom’s home cooking. I live in an apartment, so I almost always cook for myself. Compared to my mom’s cooking, my cooking tastes like cardboard, so I was very happy to eat some of her food!

On Saturday, I woke up and went to my mom’s soccer team practice to help out. I didn’t play on my usual intramural team this semester since half of our team is studying abroad, so it felt great being back on the soccer field. Her team improves a ton each time I watch them play, so it’s always exciting to see them. After soccer, I went shopping with my mom to find some business casual clothes for my internship this summer. I realized that most of my business attire is for cold weather, and Milwaukee is going to be extremely hot and humid for me this summer! I definitely needed my mom’s advice for breathable, professional clothing.

I was also able to see my grandparents for dinner on Saturday. They were sad when I didn’t come home for spring break this year, so I was glad that I was able to stop by and see them. We celebrated my birthday, my grandpa’s birthday, and Easter all in one that night, so it was a long night of celebration!

My family goes to Sunday brunch every year on Easter. I have been so sad that I’ve missed this tradition for the past few years, so it was great going again this year. We always go with family friends, but now my brother is the only kid left in Seattle. I like to think that he was happy that he wasn’t the only kid there this year!

Even though it was a short visit, I am so happy that I was able to spend a few days at home with my family. It is going to be weird not being home at all this summer, but this trip made both my family and me much happier about the situation! I am super excited for this summer, and now I can be 100% excited about Milwaukee since I got in my Seattle-fix last week!
