Tonight we’re making dinner and having a bunch of friends over. I’m really excited – I love my friends and I love good food and I love the weekend! We’re making guacamole for starters and enchiladas for the main course. A little bit of chicken, cheese, corn tortillas, sauce, olives, and we’re good to go! The ability to have “dinner parties” is probably my favorite part about apartment living. As good as life here is, though, I’m excited to go home for Thanksgiving. I’ve already started having dreams about stuffing, homemade pie, and my incredibly comfy couch. I haven’t been home since August, so it will be good to be back amongst the familiar smells and all the other weird things you notice when you come back after being gone for so long. Only two and a half weeks!
Also, be sure to check out our webisode. It talks about some of the different opportunities engineers have to get involved with the arts, from minors, to extracurriculars, to the KIUEL Showcase put on by Viterbi. I think it turned out really well! Webisode: Engineers in the Arts
Enchilads for dinner with friends sounds like fun. We did the same thing when I went to college, but made a turkey and all the trimmings. It was a lot of work, but well worth it. Here is a great receipe for enchiladas if you want to impress your friends next time: http://www.mexicanfoodrecipes.org/ .
Enjoy the holiday.
Quite the ensemble of foods in there. I can’t wait for Thanksgiving either. It’s always nice to be with family and doing my favorite activity…eating!
