Hey guys,

LavaLab

This week I wanted to talk to you about the progress of my LavaLab team’s progress. For those of you who don’t know, LavaLab is an on campus student incubator program that allows small groups of students to work on design oriented solutions to everyday problems of their choice. Our team decided to work on creating a B2B (Business to Business) service that increases customer (or user) experience at festivals and venues for large scale events. We are currently in the prototyping phase, working with technologies, under an industry mentor, that can leverage location services to help venues identify staffing needs and user trends throughout their event. In case any of you have gone to Coachella or any other similar music festivals, our idea came partly from identifying a need to make this type of technology tied to something other than a phone application (like find my friends), because phone applications hardly ever work when there are large populations (and it’s hard to make someone download an application and use it anyways). Our solution is Augment Analytics, a service that adds to your company by giving you real time analysis of your event patrons. Stay tuned for more information as we continue to prep for Demo Night, April 28th, 2015!
