Hey everyone! I hope you have had another productive and fun-filled week! The very entertaining Grammy Awards just passed last weekend and I was lucky enough to see Macklemore live in concert just three days prior to the big event. This is one of the main reasons I love LA – great music and great venues!

On Thursdays, I always have my longest and most full day of class. I was feeling drained as the day was coming to an end when I received a text from my friend Josh. He told me that his older sister worked in PR for T-Mobile who was hosting an event with Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. He offered me a free ticket and of course I jumped on it! My friends and I got all dressed up and were so excited to go. When we hopped in the cab, the venue, the Belasco Theatre, was only a 5 minute drive from campus. Not only was it close, but it was a very intimate venue which made for an even better concert. It is so convenient to have such great venues in close proximity to school.

When we arrived, there was a long line running all the way down and around the block. Josh’s sister, however, let us cut the line and go right on in. The first thing we saw when we walked in was a photo booth with fun props and took some funny pictures. They were even giving away some freebies including headphones. We wandered around and explored the venue until all of the sudden all the lights faded and we knew the concert was about to begin. We made our way to the front of the crowd and enjoyed an amazing concert. Macklemore and Ryan Lewis were incredible live and very dedicated to their fans. He moved around the stage with electricity, keeping the audience engaged in the performance, constantly waving their arms.

I was so happy to be lucky enough to see an artist nominated for seven Grammy awards. I look forward to the music he will come out with in the near future. Well that is just a glimpse of the highlight of my last week. I hope you all have a great weekend!
