Hi everyone! I cannot believe that the football season is already winding down. Football season is by far one of my favorite parts of going to USC! The school spirit makes me proud to be a Trojan. I thought I would take this week’s blog to talk a little bit more about why I am such a big fan of our football team!
Ever since I was little, my dad has been bringing me to USC games. I had a cardinal and gold onesie as a baby and the rest is history. It was honestly a dream come true to come to USC. I already knew all of the songs and cheers at the games and couldn’t wait to sit in the student section. Now that I can sit with all of the other SC students, I have the best time! Everyone has so much pride, and I can feel a sense of community in the stands.
This year it has been even more fun going to the games because three of my sorority sisters are song girls. They work so hard during the year rehearsing and going to events. I love being able to see them dance and cheer at the games. On that same note, the USC marching band is a huge part of making the game so special. They are beyond talented and bring the stadium to life! Their half time shows are enjoyable, especially when they perform songs from the top 40. This year we even had a guest performance from Jason Derulo!
Another part of game day that gets me excited is the tailgating! It is a great time to get together with friends and family and celebrate. My dad always hosts a tailgate with delicious burgers, hot dogs and refreshments. His old buddies from USC meet up with us, and it is great to see the many generations of Trojans!
If you are ever in the Los Angeles area during college football season, you should definitely try to stop by a game! You won’t regret it. Fight on!
