Some of the things I love about living in LA are…
Food and shopping! Just this past weekend I took a break and spent the day in Little Tokyo and The Grove. Just a short drive away, I took a stroll through the Japanese Villa. Looking through Japanese trinkets and smelling the good food coming from the myriad of restaurants conveniently located along the streets, I decided to settle on Spitz though–a delicious and affordable Mediterranean food joint.
Afterwards, I headed to The Grove to walk off some of the filling lunch. The Grove is a really nice retail and entertainment complex pretty close to campus also. So as usual the weather was perfect for some shopping outdoors. Enjoying the sun and the “fountain show” similar to the display at Bellagio in Las Vegas, walking around was a relaxing break to just be walking around and seeing the latest fashion trends at my favorite stores like Gap and J.Crew.
I was especially glad because I had friends visiting from out of town and we really enjoyed our time there, including the Farmer’s Market which was selling fresh fruits and vegetables, home-made chocolates and other unique snacks. Definitely been a filling and relaxing Saturday afternoon!
