Most Tuesday and Wednesday nights you’ll find me at King Hall (KOH), located just across from the residential dorm Webb Tower and above the dining hall Cafe 84. So whether after dinner or looking for a place to study away from the distractions in my apartment, I’d say KOH is my favorite study spot on campus.
If I’m going to study by myself, there are plenty of tables, chairs, couches, and even couch chairs with pull out desks to choose from–depending on whether I’m reading or doing calculations. Multiple power sources line the walls and on various spots in the ground so that it’s never a problem to plug in my laptop when the battery runs low.
But, if I need a keyboard or want to read articles off a larger screen there’s a computer center just outside in the hall with desktops that operate Mac OS and Windows software. In addition, if I have any issues on the computer or its programs, there’s someone working at the desk that I can always ask.
There’s printers and laptops to borrow too. The computer center and the main study room has smaller study rooms too if I’m, working with others and need to talk without disturbing others. In these rooms there are whiteboards and even monitors/TV’s to use for practicing problems or presentations.
Now although I generally head to KOH, when the weather is just too good to stay in doors I head just outside to the Cinema School where there’s a Coffee Bean and an outdoor sitting area. It’s another great place to study/read with a cup of coffee and some fresh air.
