To reiterate what everyone else is saying: summer is sweet. I’ve enjoyed the lack of stress and surplus of free time. I’ve been investing all this free time in catching up on getting back in peak physical condition, reading (almost done with Dante’s Inferno and halfway through Ralph Waldo Emerson’s Nature, great reads would recommend), catching up with old friends, and playing sweet sweet video games – roughly in that order.
I’ve been interning at a semiconductor manufacturer called Cortina, working out of Sunnyvale. It’s been a great experience and has given me lots of insight into industry in the Silicon Valley and the structure of a 9-to-5 schedule. The man I’m working under has been great and taught me a lot about the company and it’s place in its industry. I’ve been working on developing a GUI testing environment for the HGFEC module on their new ASIC. It’s been going great and I’m ahead of schedule.
