Hey everyone!
This past week and a half has been completely crazy. I’ve got my last midterm coming up on Tuesday, so it’ll be nice to be done with those, but there’s been a ton of other things going on to keep me busy outside of schoolwork as well.
The craziest part of the last week was in my lab. We barely made our deadline last week for my research in biomimetics, finishing up our mechanical system only 8 hours before shipping it up to Washington State for a neuroscience professor to use in her testing. I think I spent about 40 of the 48 hours in the weekend in the lab, with breaks only to eat and get a little sleep. It was so rewarding though to finally see the end product fully functioning (I’ll have to put a video up soon).
I did manage to have some fun last weekend though, going to ADPi’s invite “ADPi’s and Bowties”. Some of my roommates went as well, so it was good to get out of the house, hit up In-n-Out for invite dinner, and just relax the rest of the night.
The last thing that’s really been keeping me busy is looking into jobs/internships. I’m pretty sure at this point that I’ll be sticking around for a 5th year to get my masters in Engineering Management, so I’m only looking for an internship as opposed to a full time job, but I’m still keeping an eye out and going to networking events just in case something catches my eye. This Tuesday we’ll be having VINE (Viterbi Industry Networking Event), where recruiters from many top engineering firms will sit down with Viterbi Students to discuss employment opportunities. I’m pretty excited about the possibilities, and I can’t wait to see what the next year/two have in store!
