The semester is over, and most of us from SC are back home fir the holidays! While I definitely miss being at school, I can’t say I’m entirely disappointed to be relaxing at home, seeing old high school friends, and procrastinating on my Christmas shopping like I do every year. Oh traditions!

One of the things I’m most excited to do now that I’m back is to go head up to tahoe to get some snowboarding in. It’s been a full year since I’ve hit the slopes since I have unfortunately never been able to make it up to Big Bear while at USC, and I can’t wait to go to my favorite ski resort (Northstar), to coast down the mountain for an awesome day with some good friends.

Another thing I can’t wait to do is to get in shape for the upcoming rugby season! I recently decided to go out for the rugby team this next semester, and I definitely have some work to do before the first practices of the spring semester. Some of my high school friends now play for the Cal program, which is ranked #1 in the country, so they’ve been showing me the ropes and helping me train. Having never played before, I have a lot to catch up on, but the similarities to soccer and football have made it a pretty easy transition so far.

And finally, the last thing I absolutely need to do is relax! Winter break is a precious time to catch up on sleep and be free from the workload of school. Being at home for a few weeks is certainly not as exciting as being at USC, but it’s a welcome break after a difficult semester. And the great thing is, as soon as I’m bored of being at home, it’ll be time to go back to USC again to see my friends, settle back in, and begin the new semester
