Even though it took me a little while to get there, when I got to Manhattan Beach this year before school, I knew it was a special place. It was one of those moments when you’re like I have to make a lot of money and live there at some point. I even went there this weekend with my one friend Peter who goes here and another hometown friend who surprised us with a visit. Its the ultimate California experience especially when I first got here; hot weather, warm sand and the sound of waves crashing in the background. Its funny though because the place that came in a close second is the complete opposite.

My second favorite place is Mammoth Mountain which is about five hours away from USC. Its a winter wonderland where I get to carry out all my shredding. Due to the fact that wrestling took up all my time over the winter during High School, joining the ski team was my way to relieve all those weekend I couldn’t go snowboarding with my friends. Mammoth is another one of those places that I was like I must buy a house here so that my family can come enjoy this with me. Mammoth and Manhattan are both polar opposites, but this is why I chose California based on the endless possibilities and the drastic change of environment. 1899981_223675151172989_1164905777_n
