When I went through the process of deciding which college I wanted to attend, California was my main destination. I applied to three universities here based on the fact that California has great weather and there is so many things to do here. When I got into USC and went through my Freshman year, California did not disappoint in the slightest; I went to a Kanye West concert in the first few months of school, and then in January made a trip to Mammoth mountain to go snowboarding. California, specifically LA, is such a great place that offers a great music scene, polar opposite outdoor attractions like beaches and mountains and generally a great environment for a young adult to enjoy their college experience. Not too many places allow you to be able to sit on the beach in 70 degree weather and then go snowboarding in the mountains. Not only does LA have great outdoors, but it has great food. LA has a number of great spots ranging from Wokcano, a casual sushi place, to Bestia, a classy modern Italian restaurant. While I feel as though this is my city since I’ve been here for almost two years now, I have still so much to explore in LA and in California.
