Hi everyone!

Now that I just finished my last midterms a few days ago, I thought I’d write a little bit about a fun way to de-stress and spend some of my free time: shopping!  You may have heard of some of the more famous shopping destinations in LA, like Rodeo Drive, but I’m going to tell you about some that are a little more popular with the college students.

The Grove

The Grove is one of the more standard shopping malls, similar to the ones I used to go to back home.  Although, it is an outdoor mall, so if you are from somewhere cold, that might be unheard of! You can find pretty much anything you want here – the Grove has department stores, smaller boutiques, familiar chains, electronics stores, restaurants, and a move theater.  It’s also a fun place to go during Christmas to see all the decorations!

Third Street Prominade

Located just off the beach in Santa Monica, this is one of my favorite places to shop.  There are less stores than somewhere like the Grove, but if you know what you’re looking for, or you just want to shop a little and quickly go to the beach or eat dinner, this is the place to go.

Amoeba Music

This last one is a little quirky, but it’s a great example of how you can pretty much find anything in LA, if you’re willing to look for it.  The music scene in LA is clearly really big, so naturally, it has a lot of great music stores.  One popular one is Amoeba.  You can find anything from brand new music, to classic rock records, to really obscure mix tapes.  The store has a huge selection and also occasionally holds concerts and other music events.

There’s so many more places to shop in LA, but hopefully you get the idea that you can find whatever you’re looking for somewhere!

Have a great week!
