After freshman year, I was more than ready to come home. I missed my friends from home, home cooked meals, and most importantly non-communal showers. What I didn’t anticipate was that after a week at home I would be downloading a countdown app to keep track of how many days it was until I returned to USC (31 days left if you were wondering). While I miss USC, my friends, and California daily, I’ve been up to some really cool stuff this summer.
Aside from taking a physics summer school class, I’ve spent this summer traveling, reconnecting with old friends, and seeing amazing concerts. The physics class is really useful because I can use it for credits at USC (I’m taking the equivalent of Physics 151). I would recommend summer school to anyone who is thinking of taking it. Physics has never really been my strong suit and being able to take it without any other classes has been really good for me. Aside from class, I also ride horses. I’ve been doing this since I was 8 years old, and being able to do it this summer has been so fun.

BEYONCE!
This deserves its own section, but I saw Beyonce, and I sat ninth row, and she is just as amazing as people say she is and the entire concert felt like a dream.
Aside from seeing the queen herself, I also saw Zac Brown Band for my birthday with a ton of USC friends and home friends, and that was also amazing. Being able to belt Chicken Fried with my best friends is something I wouldn’t trade for the world. I’ve got plans to attend more concerts as the summer goes on. Lollapalooza is coming up and I can’t wait for that. I plan on camping out for Red Hot Chili Peppers all day.
With summer slowly coming to a close I’ve still got a lot of stuff I have planned to do. Lollapalooza is coming up, I’m going to Michigan next week, and I venture to the city almost daily for adventures. I’m loving being home, but I certainly can’t wait to be reunited with my Trojan family in August.
