As a USC Student, living in Downtown Los Angeles offers diverse surroundings and the opportunity to explore many different cultural centers. Due to the circumstances, a friend and I found this to be a perfect time to explore unique food places and their locations around the downtown area. Just last week we went to Philippe’s, the proclaimed inventor of the French Dip, to try their signature sandwiches. The Philippe Original is located on the corner of Chinatown, so while we munched we were able to walk around and take in the history and some photos too! And a week before that we travelled to the Arts District to try the chicken sandwiches at PIKUNICO, a Japanese Fried Chicken restaurant. The Arts District is rich in personality and architecture and offered nice scenery to explore.

Even as an LA Native, I had seen parts of downtown I had never seen in my life. I realized there is so much around USC to delve into, and Los Angeles offers great activities to get out of the dorm room and create new experiences with friends. Now as an aspiring foodie, I can’t wait for the next weekend where my friend and I try more unique food and explore another new location!
