Hey Everyone,

I cannot believe that I have been in school for 3 weeks already! These first three weeks were hectic but a lot of fun.

The first week of School I was really focused on Sorority recruitment.  From the Sunday before school started to the Sunday after the game I was meeting so many new girls.  It was great just to talk to new people and fresh faces and I met a lot of really cool people. At the end of recruitment our house got 90 new members! It was actually a record for USC, we got the largest pledge class that USC has ever had.  Since then I have been getting to know all of them and hang out with them.

On top of Sorority Recruitment, we had our first home football game. It was so much fun! My friends and I went together and sat in Trojan Nation (the section behind the goal).

I also had the Society of Women Engineers Officer Council Retreat. It was at my vacation house up in Lake Arrowhead. All 28 Officers went up and got dinner together. At dinner we had gotten Balloon Hats and celebrated one of officers birthdays.  We then had a meeting and relaxed. The next day we got up and all went swimming in the Lake. We also went on a hike around the lake. Overall, the trip was a blast and all the officers agreed on doing it again next semester.

In between all the Social activities during the first three weeks of school, I still have time to do my school work.  This semester I am enrolled in Senior Design Project where Emily Schubert and I are studying light mills.  I am also enrolled in Fluid Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering Problems, Linear Control Systems, Swimming, and Sociology 150: Social Problems.  I am most excited about my senior design project and Fluid dynamics.  However, I am very nervous for Mechanical Engineering Problems because it involves Matlab ( a coding application) and I haven’t used Matlab since Freshman year, which means I will have to work incredibly hard. But I am so excited about everything I am going to learn in each of these classes and I will be sure to keep you updated with everything that happens this semester.

Stay tuned!
